Your devices, kept forever

Your own personal Pixel 5, ready at your disposal.

Pick a body, pick an Android, pick how much RAM and disk it gets — then keep it. Every instance lives on your Mac, boots in seconds, and remembers everything you installed. Make as many as you like.

Apps & Games

Download your favourite apps & games straight from Play Store.

Emudroid's images ship with Google Play, so the whole catalogue is a tap away. Sign in with your Google account and install anything you'd install on a real phone — including the games that never made it to the Mac.

  • Google Play Store preinstalled on every image
  • Google Play Services, so apps that need it just work
  • Real Android — not a shim, not a wrapper, not a translation layer
Four games running inside the emulator: Monopoly Go, a 21 card game, Candy Crush and 2048.

Benchmarks

Your emulated Pixel 5 is faster than a flagship.

On an Apple M1 or M2, the performance of an emulated Pixel 5 is greater than the raw power of a Samsung S22 (Geekbench 6). Native ARM code, no translation, no compromise — just your Mac's silicon doing what it does best.

Test your website or app on real Android.

Point your emulator at your dev server and see exactly what your users will see — invaluable feedback, without buying a single handset. Then hand it over to the testers as a snapshot.

  • Drag and drop an .apk into the emulator to install third-party apps instantly
  • adb and platform-tools are included, so your existing scripts keep working
  • Cold boot or resume — start clean, or pick up exactly where you left off

Questions

Good to know

Is it really free?

Yes. Emudroid itself is free. The Android system images are Google's, and downloading them needs a free Google account so you can accept their licence — the app walks you through it.

Do I need Android Studio?

No — that's rather the point. Emudroid sets up its own private copy of the Android command-line tools, the emulator and the system images, tucked away in your home folder. Nothing else on your Mac is touched.

Which Android versions can I create?

Android 9 (Pie) through Android 17 (Cinnamon Bun), each with the Play Store image, on both Apple silicon and Intel Macs.

Does it run on Intel Macs?

It does. Emudroid picks the right image architecture for your Mac automatically, and ships as a universal build.

How much disk space does it use?

Each Android version you install is a one-off download (roughly 1–2 GB), and each phone you create grows only as you fill it — the data partition is allocated on demand, not up front.
